When another organization wants to connect with you, you will receive a partnership request. This guide explains how to review and respond to incoming requests.
Finding Incoming Requests
- Navigate to Partners in the main menu
- Look for relationships with Pending Response status where your Business Unit is the approver
- You may also receive a notification alert when a new request arrives
Reviewing a Request
Click on a pending request to view:
- The requesting organization's Business Unit name and logo
- Which of your Business Units they want to connect with
- When the request was sent
- Who is designated as the primary party for the connection
Accepting a Request
To accept a partnership request:
- Click on the pending request to open the details
- Review the requesting Business Unit's information
- Click Accept
What happens when you accept: The relationship becomes active immediately. SFTP configurations are updated for both Business Units, and you can begin exchanging EDI files. The requesting Business Unit receives a notification that their request was accepted.
Rejecting a Request
To decline a partnership request:
- Click on the pending request
- Click Reject
- Confirm your decision
The requesting Business Unit will be notified that their request was rejected. No relationship is established, and no file exchange is possible.
Note: The requesting Business Unit can submit a new request in the future after a rejection.
Things to Consider Before Accepting
Before accepting a request, verify:
- You recognize the requesting organization and Business Unit
- You have an existing business relationship with them
- You are ready to receive EDI files from them
- The primary party designation is correct
After Accepting
Once you accept a request, you may want to:
- Verify your EDI identifiers are configured correctly for the connection
- Set up any external connection rules if needed
- Test file exchange with the partner
